Hands-On Review: Liberty Bottleworks

Thursday, June 30, 2011

For the past several weeks, my family has been using water bottles from Liberty Bottleworks. From the minute I took the bottles out of the box, I was excited about them. They just look cool. Perhaps because the unique graphics are designed by actual artists from all around the United States. They go way beyond just looking cool though. They are made from recycled aluminum with BPA free materials. The bottles exceed FDA requirements. They are non-toxic and non-leaching. The deep drawn aluminum construction results in less dents and greater durability. The folks at Liberty have also developed a new cap design. With just a quarter turn, the cap seals by moving over a little bump in the bottle. No more turning and turning! It certainly works. One of our bottles rolled all over our car and not a drop leaked. Initially, I wasn’t so sure about the cap because it wasn’t what I was used to and it was a little difficult to turn at first. After just a few times, I was getting the cap on and off with out any problems. We took the bottles hiking, biking and on a road trip. They still look new, even after rolling around the car for a few hundred miles! The bottles come in 24 and 32 ounce versions. The 24 ounce size fit into all of our cup holders in the car and the water bottle holders on our bikes. The 32 ounce size was too big for our cup holders but we took it hiking with us and it did easily fit in the canteen holder on our backpack. We only needed one bottle and it provided more than enough water for a family of five for a one and a half hour hike. Many years from now when your Liberty bottle is finally all worn out, it can be completely recycled. So, Liberty bottles start and end with recycling! If you are still holding on to plastic water bottles, today is the day to buy a reusable bottle that you will not be disappointed with!

Liberty bottles are American made in the beautiful state of Washington. You can buy your reasonably priced Liberty bottle (just 16-18 USD) at Liberty Bottleworks. You can even use the good old fashioned telephone and given them a call 509.834.6500.

The bottles look great, I like the idea of the new tops. Keeping chemicals out of drinking water is always useful.

These are some great looking bottles! The ones I run into are typically bland or designed with a women in mind. These have some great designs that even I would have no worry carrying around.

My bottle arrived late, and it has leaked since day 1. Any suggestions?
